GETTING THE JOB DONE RIGHT…THE FIRST TIME

With our versatile product line, many of our projects contain complex designs and details. As with any project, from the simple to the most intricate, accuracy in site measurements and details are imperative. John W. McDougall Company has greatly increased our accuracy and efficiency by implementing a state-of-the-art High Definition Scanner (HDS) into our field dimensioning and engineering process.

Utilizing the Leica Geosystems ScanStation and Cyclone technology, our engineering team can quickly make extremely detailed and precise 3D models of structures onsite from several vantage points, capturing up to 50,000 points per second. These dense “point clouds” make up the 3D models which are then imported into our drafting software.

• Accuracy – With a single measurement distance accuracy of up to 4mm the scanner allows our engineering team to see the structure at any angle, down to the most intricate details.
• Time – Because the scanner operator can customize the scan in the field, we get the job done quickly and correctly the first time.
• Safety – With a maximum distance range of 300m and a full field-of-view feature, the scanner allows the capture of data overhead, vertical, horizontal and sub-level from safe and optimal distances / locations.
